EROSION CONTROL BLANKETS
Greenfields fibre blankets are light to medium weight erosion control blankets. They are made of biodegradable raw materials retained within a fine polypropylene or jute net.
Areas such as embankments, disposal sites, slopes, etc. prone to suffering from the effects of erosion can easily and quickly be protected against the said erosion with Greenfiels fibre blankets. Used as mulch blankets they support vegetation.
Greenfields blankets:
C-100-P
100% coir fibre
Both sides pp-netting
Stitched with pp-thread
Weight: 350 g/m²
Size:: 2,4 x 50 m
For areas with high erosion risk and high rate of surface water run-off
All Greenfields fibre blankets may be delivered with polypropylene or jute net on one or both sides. The standard blanket has a width of 2.4 m and a weight of approx 350 g/m². greenfields fibre blankets are produced with or without seeds. Also the composition of the basic materials straw and coir may be varied.
Greenfields fibre blankets offer secure protection against rain, wind and water erosion immediately after installation. At the same time the soil is shaded allowing a micro climate to develop between blanket and soil surface that positively influences germination and growth of the seeds. Over and above the aforementioned advantages Greenfields fibre blankets help retain moisture, act as a filter and provide humus.
Installation of the blankets
Remove larger stones and plant parts, level the ground. When installing fibre blankets without seeds the area must be evenly sown with the requested seeds.
Lay Greenfields fibre blankets all over onto the prepared area with overlaps of approx. 5 – 10 cm at the longitudinal and transverse sections. Fasten with 3 – 4 steel cramps or wooden pins according to the composition of the soil surface.
Pay attention to the complete surface, especially the fastening at lower parts and edges of the embankment!
