TUBOSIDER STEEL CULVERTS
Tubosider bolted plate is a corrugated steel plate construction system used primarily for culverts, underpasses, quarry escape tunnels and stockpile recovery tunnels, and bridges. It is used typically where diameters are in excess of 3.6m and increased loadbearing capacity is required. It is available in spans/diameters up to 12m.
Bolted plate is based around 1.6m wide, curved, corrugated, galvanized steel sheets of varying profiles, lengths and thicknesses that are bolted together to form durable structures in the shape of a full round pipe, an arch, a horizontal elliptical pipe, a pipe-arch or underpass.
Tubosider bolted plate offers definite advantages over concrete structures because of its strength to weight ratio, resistance to breakage, immunity to damage by fire and frost, its ease of installation and adaptability to changing conditions.
Pipe type | Type | Class | Nm Tension density | |

T70 | M12 | 8,8 | 45 | 75 |
T100 | M14 | 8,8 | 70 | 110 |
Pipe types:
T-70
Used mainly with D600–D1400 pipes.
Thickness of the plates:
D600–D1000 – 1,5 mm
D1200–D1400 – 2,0 mm
Pipes are made of two steel arcs
Minimal overburden: 0,5 m
Curvatures are 0,43 m and other elements 1,05 m wide
T-100
Used mainly with D1500–D2000 pipes.
Thickness of the plates:
D1500–D2000 – 2,0 – 3,5 mm
Pipes are made of 3-5 steel elements
Minimal overburden: 0,5 m
The elements are 1,05 m wide and their length is calculated according to the pipe’s diameter (0,75 – 2,3 m)
